Gold Coast Commonwealth Games organisers want a $A2 billion boost to Queensland's economy from the event in 2018 and the creation of 30,000 jobs.

In a vision statement issued on Monday by the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, several objectives were listed.

AAP reports it is just over a year since the Gold Coast won a bid to host the games.

"It is not just about delivering an 11 day event - it is about using the games to create a decade of opportunity," said chief executive Mark Peters.
