Man seriously injured at sawmill

The Department of Labour is investigating after a man was caught in a wood stacker at a sawmill near Rotorua.

The ambulance service says the accident happened at Waipa Sawmill on the outskirts of the city about 8am on Thursday.

The man has been taken to Rotorua Hospital with serious injuries.

The Department of Labour is investigating the incident. The mill is operated by Red Stag Timber.
