Pike River Mine

Community in good heart

08:48 am on 7 November 2012

A community leader in Greymouth says the Royal Commission's report into the Pike River tragedy gives people the chance to move on and work through coal mine closures and other blows.

Rev Tim Mora says the West Coast is in good heart and people are supporting each other as they work through body blows such as the mothballing of the Spring creek mine.

Mr Mora says there was nothing unexpected in the report and the wider community is pleased health and safety matters will be addressed.
