Police have identified a body that was found in a West Auckland creek as that of a local man.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday morning, after a resident discovered the body in Oratia Creek in Henderson on Monday afternoon.
Police say the dead man has been identified as Henderson resident John Meldrum, 58, who had been reported missing.
They say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The case has now been referred to the Coroner.
