Samoa's only daily newspaper has rehired its former newspaper editor, Tuiasau Leota Uelese Petaia, after he was let out of prison.

He was released on parole last month after serving just half of his sentence for theft which involved more than 20,000 US dollars.

The veteran journalist was also the former CEO of the then government television station and later ran his own LAUTV station which was closed permanently after two years of operation because of financial problems.
