Global Travel Industry News reports that 16 Pacific Island Countries made the decision to rebrand at a meeting of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation in Melbourne last week.

It reports this follows a review by consultants who say a new brand is needed to capture the essence of the region.

The SPTO chief executive Illisoni Vuidreketi says he is excited at the prospects of developing a brand to truly represent the unique product the South Pacific is.
