The body of an engineer helping to fight bush fires from the air in New Caledonia on Sunday has been found.
The 31 year old was discovered inside the cabin of the helicopter whose pilot was killed when the aircraft crashed.
The pair was among a team called to fight the fire at Voh in the north of the archipelago which destroyed 200 hectares of vegetation.
An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
24 fires fanned by strong winds on Sunday are reported to be under control.
A fire ban is in force throughout New Caledonia as the el Nino weather pattern grips the country.
