Loan from World Bank for Fiji internet project

The World Bank is loaning Fiji $US5.95 million dollars for the Fiji Connectivity Project, which aims to improve the country's internet service.

The project will support the construction of a new broadband cable, which will link the existing Southern Cross Submarine Cable Network to Vanua Levu.

The Bank said it will help stimulate business through improved connectivity, give a to boost e-commerce and reduce transaction costs.
