People who bought frozen berries from four South Island supermarkets yesterday are being urged to check their freezers due to a Hepatitis A risk with the product.

New Zealand Food Safety has recalled a batch of Pams mixed berries with a best before date of 14 August next year which were sold on 14 January at Ashburton New World, Three Parks New World Wānaka, and Hornby and Wainoni Pak'nSave in Christchurch.

New Zealand Food Safety says Foodstuffs accidentally released nearly 500 (478) bags that were recalled in October.

Six were sold before the mistake was picked up, and four are unaccounted for.
