The Nauru government says Australian banks want to resume services on the Pacific island nation now it has been taken off an international money-laundering blacklist.
Nauru was removed from the global Financial Action Task Force blacklist on the 13th of October- five years after it had been put there.
Cabinet minister Kieren Keke said Nauru had received genuine interest from Australian commercial and banking institutions to re-establish services there.
Mr Keke says Nauru has implemented an offshore business registry that meets international requirements.
