Bomb scare in capital false alarm

15:51 pm on 5 March 2014

Police say a bomb scare in central Wellington on Wednesday afternoon was a false alarm.

Three buildings had to be evacuated and a main street closed after a man called the Bolton Hotel off The Terrace claiming that there was a bomb in an air vent.

A specialist search team found nothing. Senior Sergeant Glenn Barnett said police are tracing the call. The road has reopened.
