Police say they are monitoring gang activity in Lower Hutt in anticipation of a funeral tomorrow morning.
Businesses on Randwick Road in Moera have reported a significant gang presence.
One worker told RNZ the gang had cut off a small street, but police claim no streets have been blocked.
They say there will be a visible police presence tonight and tomorrow as the funeral procession moves to Whenua Tapu Cemetary in Porirua.
Police said traffic is likely to be disrupted tomorrow morning in Moera and in Porirua during the afternoon.
