Australia levelled the trans-Tasman netball series by winning the second Test 48-44 in Melbourne on Wednesday night.
The home team started strongly and were ahead by 8 at half time and 12 after the third quarter.
The Silver Ferns won the first Test, 53-50, on Sunday.
Irene Van Dyk topped the scoring with 34 goals from 38 attempts at 89%.
The third Test will be played in Brisbane on Sunday before two more matches in New Zealand.
