Two people have been arrested in connection with dozens of barbecues stolen from a Mitre 10 Mega store in East Auckland earlier this week.

Nearly 50 barbecues were taken from the Flat Bush store overnight on Monday.

Police said a 31-year-old man had been charged with burglary, and a 59-year-old woman had been charged with receiving stolen property.

Both have appeared in the Manukau District Court.

Police are appealing for any information on Weber or Everdue barbecues being sold for cheap.
