Ebos reports record full-year profit

Healthcare and animal products company Ebos Group has announced a record full-year earnings result in what it says was a difficult environment in both divisions of its business.

Underlying net profit after tax is up 15.5 percent to $188.2 million.

Revenue exceeded $9 billion for the first time and was up 5 percent.

The final dividend was 46 cents per share, bringing total dividends declared for the year to 88.5 cents per share which, up 14.2 percent.

Chief executive John Cullity said the strength and diversity of its portfolio of businesses in New Zealand and Australia continues in the current difficult environment.

Healthcare generated revenue of $8.7b, with growth driven by Community Pharmacy, TWC, Institutional Healthcare and Contract Logistics divisions.

In Australia, Healthcare revenue increase to $6.9b and in New Zealand by $1.8b.

Animal Care generated $497.5m, an increase of 17 percent.

The company said consistent with its strategy of investing for growth it has announced a significant capital investment of approximately $80m in a new sate of the art pet food manufacturing plant in New South Wales.

It said the unpredictable nature of Covid-19 had required it to be flexible in managing individual situations across its operations in both countries.
