Resignation rattles PNG government

15:05 pm on 12 April 2019

The resignation of a senior cabinet minister has rattled the government of Papua New Guinea.

James Marape resigned suddenly on Thursday night, citing a lack of trust between himself and the prime minister, Peter O'Neill.

That's set off a whirlwind of speculation about the stability of the government, ahead of parliament's next sitting in May.
