West Papua issue lingers despite Indonesian regional outreach

Indonesia's government has dismissed a claim by the West Papuan independence movement that it is interfering in politics of Pacific Island countries.

This comes amid ongoing calls for human rights abuses in Indonesia's Papua region, and West Papuan self-determination aspirations, to be addressed by the international community.
