Eight people have been arrested in Waikato in relation to a series of burglaries and thefts in Cambridge.
Police say there has been an increase in such offending in the town since the beginning of May.
The arrested people face 34 burglary and shoplifting charges.
"Retail crime will not be tolerated, and we will continue to investigate this type of offending," Cambridge sergeant Ben Joll said.
"We work hard to hold offenders to account to ensure the safety of our community."
Some of the offenders were caught while fleeing the scene, Joll said.
Police urge people to continue reporting incidents to them.
