Link found between political beliefs and brain structure

A study commissioned by the BBC shows a strong correlation between people's political beliefs and their brain structure.

Scientists interviewed 90 students about their political values and beliefs and then compared the answers with the results of brain scans.

They found that two specific areas of the brain differed in size depending on the political beliefs of the person involved.

The research was led by Professor Gary Reece of the centre for cognitive neuroscience at the University of London.

He says they can see a strong correlation with political views.
