French Polynesia has recorded seven more deaths from Covid-19 in the last four days, bringing the total number of fatalities in the territory since the pandemic began to 86.
New confirmed cases have reached 178 over the same period.
There are 62 people currently in hospital with 28 of them in intensive care.
The latest numbers bring the territory's total Covid-19 infections since testing began in March to 15,332 with cases exceeding 5000 in the past month alone.
All but 62 of these cases were detected after the borders were reopened in July and mandatory quarantine requirements were abolished in an effort to boost tourism and reignite the economy.
