Police in French Polynesia have made an arrest following last Tuesday's bank robbery in Pirae.
They have detained a 32-year-old man at his home on suspicion of stealing just over 10,000 dollars from the Banque de Polynesie.
According to press reports, he has admitted to the hold-up but reports say the money is yet to be located.
Police had asked for the public's help in tracking a blue Mini Cooper which was the getaway vehicle.
The car reportedly belonged to an acquaintance of the suspect.
The robbery coincided with another one in central Papeete where a man armed with a knife was still inside the Socredo Bank when nearby police arrested him.
Bank robberies in French Polynesia are extremely rare.
