The New Zealand golfer, Steven Alker's fallen agonisingly short of earning a PGA Tour card at the season-ending Cox Classic in Omaha.
The 43-year-old began the week in 22nd place on the money-list for the second-tier US tour, with the top 25 automatically qualifying for the PGA Tour, but he missed the cut at the tournament and slipped four spots to 26th.
He missed his card on the PGA Tour season for 2014 by only one place as the top 25 automatically qualified for the main tour.
Alker made US$139,313 from 13 events in 2013. American Andrew Svoboda claimed the 25th place on US$140,540 - a difference of $1227.
The former NZ PGA Champion will now have to earn his card through a new four-tournament playoff with another 25 Tour cards up for grabs.
Fellow New Zealanders, Danny Lee and Tim Wilkinson, have already qualified for the PGA Tour through the regular season by finishing 15th and 10th on the money-list respectively.
