Samoa power company probes leaks to media

15:20 pm on 7 July 2011

The new management of Samoa's Electric Power Corporation is carrying out an investigation to find which employees have leaked memos and office documents to the media.

This comes after the suspension of two senior staff amid allegations of corruption relating to the use of some of the corporation's funds.

The local media revealed this week that the suspension of another senior officer, Patricia Fruean, was overturned on the direction of the Minister of EPC and chairman of the board, Manu'alesagalala Enokati Posala.

Ms Fruean has denied leaking information to the media but she does say the acting manager called her back to work after finding no proof of accusations she altered her leave card giving herself more days leave.
