The father of surfing's newest junior world champion says the win is like a fairytale come true.
Ella Williams, 18, from Whangamata, has won the Women's Association of Surfing Professional World Junior Title in Florianapolis in Brazil. She entered the competition as a late alternative and was told she was going only two weeks ago.
Her father, Dean Williams, says it was a dream for Ella to have even been at the competition, let alone win it.
