The health ministry in French Polynesia has been searched by police in a probe of alleged favouritism in dealing with medical companies.
The investigators also raided the offices of Rima Medex, Taote Medex and Fenua Medex which provide specialist services.
Among those being questioned is the health minister Jacques Raynal who reportedly sold his stake in the companies two weeks before joining the government.
Local broadcasters said the minister's home was also searched.
It was alleged that the companies secured contracts without there being any tenders.
No charges have been laid.
