More than 3500 farm animals have been moved to safety following the massive flooding of Edgecumbe.

Federated Farmers' Bay of Plenty president Darryl Jensen said some farms were under water and action had to be taken immediately to protect livestock.
He said he had not heard of any livestock casualties, with farmers having tried to get their animals out of danger early on.
Mr Jensen said it had been a well co-ordinated effort, with many different organisations and companies lending a hand.
"Our first and immediate needs were farms that were totally under water.
"We just got the stock off as quickly as possible and that's been ongoing, we go to the worst-affected areas [and] get those stock off."
Mr Jensen said unaffected farmers were offering grazing land for animals evacuated from the flooding.
