Asian Bank forecasts

12:29 pm on 13 April 2012

The Asian Development Bank's latest forecasts for developing economies are picking a soft landing for the Chinese economy in 2012.

But the bank says the slowdown in the world's second largest economy will be more pronounced than other developing economies in the region.

It has forecast China's growth to slow from 9.2% last year, to 8.5% this year, before picking up to 8.7% in 2013

Growth in the rest of Asia's developing economies is forecast to slow from 7.2% in 2011, to 6.9% this year.

Forecast growth in all parts of the region is expected to slow in 2012 except Southeast Asia, due to a rebound in Thailand after last year's floods.
