The bus travelling from Apia to Falelatai collided with an oncoming car and smashed into two pieces, the Samoa Observer reported.

According to a bystander at the scene, the driver apparently lost control of the bus.
It's understood the bus was fully loaded with passengers, some of whom remain in a critical condition in hospital.
