Government youth crime package missing consequences for repeat offenders - Luxon

National leader Christopher Luxon believes the government's plan to tackle youth crime fails to address sanctions for repeated offenders.

A new package has been unveiled to tackle youth crime, building on existing initiatives with aims to get more young people into education, training, or work.

Police Minister Chris Hipkins says the ultimate goal is to get young people engaged in something constructive.

Luxon told Morning Report there needs to be appropriate consequences for continued wrongdoing.
