A union representing workers at the Ministry of Maori Development says Te Puni Kokiri is proposing staff changes including some positions being lost.
The agency confirmed it has released a proposal for structural changes.
Te Puni Kokiri says no final decisions will be made until staff have been consulted, and their feedback considered.
The Public Service Association says it's talking to staff at Te Puni Kokiri on Thursday about the proposal. It says staff have a month to consider the information.
The union says some positions under the proposal will change, while others will go.
