21:19 pm on 2 February 2022

Police are still appealing for information on a hit and run in Cromwell, Central Otago last month.

A cyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on the morning of 23 January.

Police said they would like to hear from anyone who saw a metallic blue double cab vehicle, possibly a Toyota Hilux, and believed to have alloy bull bars on the front and black aftermarket wheels.

Police said it was believed the vehicle also had some sort of radio antenna or stick on the back of the deck.

Anyone who has information that could lead to the location of the vehicle can call police on 105 and quote the case number 220123/5266, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

The owner of another vehicle had come forward to police of their own accord to help in their inquiries, and police said they were confident they were not involved.
