New Zealand golfer Lydia Ko has a one stroke lead after the opening round of the LPGA Tour Championship in Florida.
Ko bogeyed her first hole, but then dropped eight birdies to finish with a seven under par 65.
She's one shot ahead of American Daniell Kang and Pajaree Anannarukam of Thailand.
Ko entered the season-ending tournament with the lead in the Player of the Year points standings.
Heading into the tournament there were four players in contention for the overall season honours.
Her closest rival Minjee Lee of Australia in six shots back in a tie for 23rd, while another contender Brooke Henderson of Canada is just three shots behind Ko.
The winner of this event pockets $3.25 million.
Meanwhile Ryan Fox is tied for 33rd, eight shots from the lead, at the World Tour's season finale in Dubai.
Fox is currently second on that tour's order of merit and would need a top finish to have any chance of finishing number one on tour.
