Guns seized after Canterbury AOS callout

14:13 pm on 10 November 2009

Two guns have been recovered from a house at the centre of an Armed Offenders Squad callout in Darfield, police say.

A house in North Terrace in the Canterbury township was cordoned off just before 9am on Tuesday, after reports of a man with a firearm.

The Armed Offenders Squad was deployed and a man surrendered to police a short time later. He was taken into police custody.

Police say no shots were fired in the incident.
