A 61-year-old man who was assaulted on Cashel Street on Tuesday 18 October has died.
An 18-year-old had previously appeared in court charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police said further charges would now be considered.
Enquires related to the circumstances of the incident were ongoing.
