The man accused of strapping a fake bomb to an Sydney teenager last month has been formally charged on his return to Australia from the United States.
The ABC reports Paul Peters, 50, returned to Sydney on Saturday morning on a flight from the United States where he had been in custody since his arrest in August, the ABC reports.
He has been refused bail on a variety of charges including kidnapping and demanding property with intent to steal.
Mr Peters allegedly ambushed Madeleine Pulver, 18, in her family's Sydney-home last month and strapped a fake collar bomb to her neck.
She endured 10 hours with the device strapped to her neck.
Police later revealed there were no explosives, describing the affair as an elaborate hoax.
