Fiordland tourism hurting since 2019, future uncertain

Fiordland tourism operators say they've been taking hit after hit since the end of last year, and they're not sure how many will be left standing.

Since October, the region has faced bad weather that has grounded helicopters, and flooding that cut access to its prized destination for weeks and damaged Great Walks.

Tourism operators told reporter Tess Brunton they were on the road to recovery until Covid-19 struck.
