No matter what happens in the final, the USA will take the outright lead in the series standings from New Zealand.
It is the first Cup final for Samoa since 2012.
Hurricanes sign experienced lock
The experienced South African lock Andries Ferreira has joined the Hurricanes for the remainder of the Super rugby season.
The 28-year-old arrived in Wellington on Saturday and will be available for the Hurricanes match against the Highlanders on Friday night in Wellington.
Ferreira replaces Sam Lousi who has suffered a season ending pectoral muscle injury which required surgery.
He comes to the Hurricanes having played for the Cheetahs and Lions in Super Rugby while he also had a brief stint in the French Top 14 with Toulon.
The Football Ferns have beaten Argentina 2-0 in Brisbane for their first win at the inaugural Cup of Nations.
It wasn't a flawless performance from the Ferns but defender CJ Bott's stunning second-half strike and an earlier effort from Katie Rood were enough for Tom Sermanni's side to bounce back from an opening day defeat to hosts Australia and get three points on the board.
Australia scored their second win of the tournament with a 4-1 victory over South Korea.

Great weekend for Scott McLaughlin
The New Zealand driver Scott McLaughlin has made the perfect start to the defence of his Supercars title with back to back victories in the first round in Adelaide.
After victory on Saturday, McLaughlin drove his new Ford Mustang to a win over Cam Waters and fellow-New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen yesterday.
McLaughlin has 300 points in the championship with van Gisbregen second on 258 points.
The next round is at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in a fortnight.
Proteas take game one of ODI series
South Africa captain Faf du Plessis scored an unbeaten century to lead his side to an eight-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the opening ODI at The Wanderers.
After winning the toss and electing to field, South Africa bowled the visitors out for 231 in 47 overs before chasing down their victory target for the loss of two wickets and with 67 balls remaining.
The second fixture in the five-match series will be played in Pretoria on Wednesday.

The young Australian golfer Zach Murray was left struggling for words to describe his victory at the New Zealand Open.
The 21 year old Victorian claimed his first win since turning professional with a wire to wire victory, finishing two shots ahead of compatriot Ashley Hall and New Zealander Josh Geary.
Murray says to start his career like this is so huge and to win the 100th New Zealand Open - I don't really think words can describe it.
He says he's looking forward to playing this tournament for the rest of his life.
Sitak pipped for title
The New Zealand doubles player Artem Sitak has narrowly missed out on capturing his 5th ATP doubles tennis title and biggest of his career.
The 32 year old and his left handed American partner Austin Krajicek have been beaten by the German Zverev brothers Alexander and Mischa in the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco.
It was a match they dominated for the most part and will rue only converting 3 of 13 break point chances in the match.
After their run to the final in Acapulco, Sitak will rise to around 35 in the rankings, and is closing in on his career high of 32.
