The Newcastle Knights have agreed to allow their NRL club to drug-test them 365 days a year, agreeing in principle to be tested as soon as today.
The Knights have felt obliged to adopt a strong anti-drugs stance in the wake of serious drugs charges levelled at their teammate Danny Wicks a week ago.
The Knights captain Kurt Gidley wouldn't comment on the team's decision because the players have made a pact not to speak to the media about Wicks or related issues.
