With pre-polling starting in the Eastern Division today, staff left the marine jetty bound for remote islands on board five chartered vessels yesterday.

The Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, charged them with holding the highest standards of impartiality and professionalism at all times, saying all political parties will be scrutinising the process closely.

Mr Saneem says the pre-poll teams are bound for the Lau group as well as Lomaiviti and parts of Kadavu.
