Police have charged a patched Head Hunters gang member following a shooting incident in Huapai last week.

Investigations have been ongoing into the incident in the northwest Auckland town, which occurred on Monday 21 November, Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Williams, Waitematā CIB, said.

Several schools went into lockdown in Huapai after gunshots were heard at a nearby residential property.

Yesterday, a 34-year-old man, with patches for the Head Hunters Motorcycle Gang, was arrested for unlawful posession and multiple other charges.

He is now before the Waitākere District Court.

Williams said the investigation remained ongoing and did not rule out further arrests or charges.
