Electric passenger planes are set to feature on departure boards in NZ within five years.

Blenheim based Sounds Air is unveiling plans to be the first Australasian airline offering electric-powered flights.

It plans to have a fleet of at least three 19-seater aircraft set for take-off by 2026, and eventually to fully-convert to an all-electric fleet.
