Guildford vows to make amends

08:15 am on 13 September 2011

The All Blacks winger Zac Guildford is hopeful of another chance to impress the coaches after slipping further down the pecking order over the weekend.

The 22-year old was left out of the All Blacks squad for their World Cup opener against Tonga and had to watch from the grandstand as wings Richard Kahui and Isaia Toeva staked their claims for starting spots after running in four of New Zealand's six tries.

Guildford is now likely at the bottom of the wing pile after a shocking performance in the All Blacks' Tri Nations loss to the Wallabies a fortnight ago.

However the Crusaders speedster is adamant he's recovered from the Brisbane howler where he made a number of crucial mistakes.

The All Blacks face Japan in Hamilton on Friday with the team to be named tomorrow morning.
