A 41-gun salute has been be held in Wellington in honour of Prince Philip.

The ceremony, which started at noon, took 40 minutes and was fired from the saluting battery at Point Jerningham, withh soldiers from the 16th Field Regiment of the New Zealand Artillery firing from four modified 25 pounder guns.
The Minister of Defence, Peeni Henare, military chiefs and members of the public attended.
It was one of several gun salutes held across the Commonwealth in recent days, including salutes in London, Edinburgh, Canberra and the Falkland Islands.
The Duke of Edinburgh died overnight Friday (NZT) at the age of 99.
Within the New Zealand Defence Force, the Duke held the ranks of Admiral of the Fleet of the Royal New Zealand Navy, Field Marshal of the New Zealand Army, and Marshal of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
The NZDF said while the traditional number of gun salutes is 21, on certain occasions an extra 20 rounds are added when fired from a royal park or setting.
Gun salutes have also been held in several other countries, including Australia and the Falkland Islands.
In Canada, flags are flying at half mast and in Victoria, in British Columbia, a lone piper has played solemn military music for the prince.
