Purpose-built evacuation centres planned for Fiji

15:04 pm on 16 April 2018

Disaster officials in Fiji's west say they're looking at establishing purpose-built evacuation centres in the main towns.

The area was hit by heavy flooding during back to back cyclones and other bad weather earlier this month which affected 23 percent of the area's population.

George Dregaso from the National Disaster Management Office told Sally Round about the plan.
