Three people facing charges of corruption and bribery of enforcement staff have appeared in Wellington District Court on Tuesday.
Counsel for defence said redactions obscuring nearly three quarters of some 50,000 pages of disclosure materials would have to be reviewed before proceedings could continue.
They said the Crown needed to establish whether rules regarding the redacted information had been correctly applied.
Suppression orders preventing the publication of the names of the trio remained in place.
The accused were remanded on bail until a second pre-trial hearing scheduled for October.
