The Fisheries Minister Stuart Nash says he was wrong to point the finger at New Zealand First for delaying plans to rollout cameras on fishing boats.

Newshub last night played an audio recording from February 2018 where Nash talks about New Zealand First leader Winston Peters and MP Shane Jones.

In the recording the then new minister said Peters and Jones have made it very clear they don't want cameras on boats.

RNZ political reporter Charlie Dreaver spoke to Nash and started by asking him if his position had changed since the recordings were made.

We asked to speak to Jones but he declined.
