The jury in the murder trial of former Auckland eye surgeon says they will not reach a verdict tonight, after hours of deliberation.
Dr Polkinghorne is accused of murdering his wife, Pauline Hanna, in their Remuera home three years ago and staging the scene as suicide.
The jury at the High Court in Auckland has been deliberating since just after 11am, and finished for the day just after 4.30pm.
The trial will not sit on Friday, with jurors returning to deliberate next week.
