A woman in New Caledonia who arrived from France on Saturday has been placed in quarantine as a precaution to stop the importation of the coronavirus.
The action was taken after the woman found out a person she was in contact with in France tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement said the woman had no symptoms and was not considered to be contagious.
However, she has been put in isolation at a special facility opened in Dumbea for two weeks.
New Caledonia has no recorded case of coronavirus.
Restrictions on movement in force in France have not been extended to New Caledonia.
