The Irish halfback Eoin Redden has kept a close eye on New Zealand rugby and admires the quality of players that continue to be churned out.
Redden says he was surprised Andy Ellis wasn't picked for the All Blacks, but says the selection of rookie Aaron Smith shows the depth at number nine.
Redden rates the in-form Highlanders halfback, calling him a good decision maker, a dangerous runner and good passer of the ball.
