A central Hawke's Bay company has signed a deal to sell its solar powered water pump in 20 countries.
Isaacs Electrical launched its ePump last December, and strong demand nationally and internationally has led to it signing a major distribution partnership with Waikato Milking Systems.
The ePump can pump up to 20 litres of water per minute in daylight hours, and for a distance of up to 120 metres, making it ideal for use in remote locations.
Company spokesman Gavin Streeter said the company had struggled to keep up with demand. It had up to 30 enquiries a day which, along with manufacturing the units, had kept the firm busy.
"The best solution to keep up with demand and production was to partner with a reputable global firm that offers strong distribution channels.
"Waikato Milking Systems has distributors through the United States, South America, South Africa, Russia, Europe, the UK, Ireland and Asia. They have relationships in these regions, we don't, so it makes sense to partner with them.
"Since launching we have fielded calls from individuals and organisations involved in disaster relief from extreme weather conditions and the ePump will enable access to water supplies," he said.
